THE ORGANIZATION

Pro Skills Basketball was founded by Logan Kosmalski and Brendan Winters in 2009. The two founders first met when they joined the Davidson College Wildcats in 2002. Logan was transferring in to Davidson after playing his freshman and sophomore seasons at Baylor University, while Brendan was entering as a freshman from prep school in Massachusetts. The two players quickly formed a close friendship, and ended up becoming roommates.

During Logan's senior season and Brendan's junior season, the duo led Davidson to a perfect 16-0 Southern Conference record and a birth in the post-season NIT, where they ended up losing in the quarterfinals to the University of Maryland Terrapins.

After college, during the 2006-07 season, Logan (2nd year pro) and Brendan (1st year pro) joined forces on L'Hermine de Nantes of the French league. During the next year, 2007-08, the two players briefly split when Logan signed to play in Poland and Brendan traveled to play in Germany. However, the two players once again teamed up a year later when they both signed to play for the Dusseldorf Giants in the German Bundesliga (1st Division).

It was there in Dusseldorf that their long-talked-about idea of forming a basketball training organization for kids became reality with the formation of Pro Skills Basketball. The organization's name was chosen because both Logan and Brendan realized that the skills they would teach kids would be the same skills that they had learned throughout their careers as they ascended to the professional ranks.

Although Logan and Brendan are each unique as people, players, and coaches, they both strongly believe in the Pro Skills Basketball “5 Keys to Success” of F.O.C.U.S., which stands for Fun, Overcome Obstacles, Concentration, Unity, and Skills. They believe that these keys will not only help kids on the basketball court, but will also lead to success in anything they do off the court too, which ultimately, is their mission.

BASKETBALL CAREER

Logan graduated from Trinity High School in Euless, TX. As a three-year starter, he was a three-time All-District selection while also being chosen District Player of the Year and All-State in his senior season.

Logan then went on to play at Baylor University where he started as a freshman. After starting the season 11-0, Logan's Baylor team went on to the semi-finals of the Big XII Tournament and then the NIT. After two years at Baylor, Logan decided to transfer to Davidson College. After sitting out a full season due to NCAA rules, Logan took the court for the Wildcats in 2003, playing against high profile teams such as Georgetown, Duke, North Carolina, and Seton Hall. While at Davidson, Logan was a two-year captain as well as a two-time recipient of the "Wildcat Award," given annually to Davidson's top rebounder. In his senior year, Logan captained the team to a perfect 16-0 conference record and an eventual quarterfinals loss to Maryland in the postseason NIT. For his play, he earned All-Conference honors as well as being chosen for the All-State University Team for North Carolina. Logan graduated in 2005 with a degree in Psychology.

After Davidson, Logan went on to play professionally across Europe. He began his career in the French professional league with L'Hermine de Nantes. For 2 seasons in Nantes, Logan placed in the top 5 of the league for rebounds per game. After France, Logan moved to a 1st division team in Walbrzych, Poland. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a serious knee injury. During Logan's rehabilitation time, he worked as a radio announcer for the 2007-2008 Davidson basketball team. This gave him the opportunity to watch from the sidelines as Coach Bob McKillop and his Wildcats advanced all the way to the Elite Eight. After months of rehab Logan was ready to once again continue his professional career. He joined the Dusseldorf Giants of the top division in Germany for the 2008-10 seasons and was once again teammates with Winters. For the 2010-11 season, Logan played in the Swedish Basketliga with the Solna Vikings in Stockholm.

FAMILY

Logan's father, Len Kosmalski, is a former professional basketball player who was drafted by the Kansas City Kings in 1972. After two years with the Kings, Len moved on to play two seasons in Italy and France. Logan's older brother Landry was a four year starter for the Davidson Wildcat basketball team. Landry went on to play professionally in Sweden and France for four years before becoming an assistant basketball coach at Davidson College. Landry then shortly left Davidson to be the head varsity basketball coach at The Webb School in Knoxville, Tennessee, but after two years came back to Davidson to be assistant coach again.

BASKETBALL CAREER

Brendan graduated from J.K. Mullen High School in Denver, Colorado in 2001 after winning the 5A State Championship and being named 1st team All-Tournament. Without any Division I scholarship offers, Brendan refused to give up and decided to attend Worcester Academy Prep School in Massachusetts as a post-graduate student. There, he played with and against some of the best competition in the nation.

After a successful prep school year, Brendan accepted a scholarship to play for the Davidson College Wildcats in 2002. In his freshman season, Brendan led the Southern Conference in 3 point percentage and was named to the All-Freshman and All-Conference teams. During his sophomore season, Brendan averaged over 17 points per game and was named 1st team All-Conference. Junior year, Brendan was named Southern Conference Player of the Year and All-American, as he and Logan lead the WIldcats to a perfect 16-0 conference record and quarterfinals defeat in the postseason NIT. However, Brendan saved the best for last when in his senior season he led Davidson to victory in the Southern Conference tournament and was named Tournament MVP with 33 points in the championship game. Again Brendan was named an All-American along with winning Davidson's "Tommy Peters Award" (given annually to a male Davidson athlete who exemplifies excellence on the playing field and dedicated campus leadership) and also being named one of five national finalists for the "Chip Hilton Award" (given annually to a graduating senior NCAA basketball players who demonstrates personal character in all affairs).

After graduating in 2006 with a degree in English, Brendan decided to pursue his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA. He was invited to attend the Portsmouth Invitational as well as pre-draft workouts with the Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons, and Charlotte Bobcats. Despite going undrafted, Brendan continued his NBA quest by playing for the Golden State Warriors in the 2006 Las Vegas Summer League. Although being asked to play in the NBA Developmental League, Winters decided to continue his career overseas for his rookie year when he signed to play alongside Logan with L'Hermine de Nantes in France. For his second pro season, Brendan moved to the Bayer Giants Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga. There, his team finished in 3rd place while he led the league in 3's and was named 1st team All-League. Brendan then decided to stay in Germany and resigned with the Giants (although the team moved from Leverkusen to Dusseldorf, thus becoming the Dusseldorf Giants) for the 2008-2010 seasons. During the 2009-10 season, Brendan was picked as a Bundesliga All-Star. For the 2010-11 season, Brendan played in the Hungarian A Division for Atomeromu in Paks, Hungary, and then moved to the top division in Greece to finish the season playing for Aris Thessaloniki.

PERSONAL

Brendan comes from a large family with two brothers and three sisters. His father, Brian, was a 2-time NBA All-Star with the Milwaukee Bucks and coach with over 20 years experience in college (Princeton), the NBA (Cavaliers, Hawks, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Warriors), and the WNBA (Fever). He currently works as a scout for the NBA's Indiana Pacers. Brendan's sister, Keelin, played soccer for national powerhouse Portland University from 2006-2010 while also being a member of the under-23 USA women's team. In 2010, she was named the Womens Soccer Player of the Year in the WCC. Brendan's other younger sister, Meghan, is currently a sophomore basketball player for the nationally ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs.
